The first time I watched it, I cried for three hours (I was a hormonal teenager, so sue me). I watched it again only last week. It is wonderful. So lovely.
As I said below, I am ready to give it a chance when it crosses my path. But it's probably hard to appreciate a film of which the ending has been spoiled for decades. It also sounds a bit chick-flickish, but we'll see.
