My wife and I expected to laugh throughout and enjoy a mindless movie. Instead we were bored throughout and walked away hating it.
I can't remember the name if the movie, but it was the rm-com where the parents of a little girl die and they left the baby to two people who can't stand each other. It was supposed to be funny, but I found it completely depressing for ¾ of the movie which detracted from the actual funny parts.
Marley and Me this one depressed me too, but the trailer made me think it was going to be a laugh out loud comedy. I cried near the end. Never good when I want a laugh. It was good for what it was though.

Kirk: Spock, you want to know something? Everybody’s human.
Spock: I find that remark…insulting.
