Only the stuff with Morgan at the beginning, the episode with Sarah's mom, and the finale felt like they had any meat to me this season. I think they used up the last of their actual major progressing plot points at the end of season four with the wedding. You can't blame them for that, this show was always on the verge of cancellation so they had to get the story out when they could. But they had nothing left for their final season, and couldn't really come up with any way to progress the story in any real meaningful way for the characters, and that left season five feeling like kind of a wasted opportunity.
That said, I like the fact that at the end we are left with the knowledge that Chuck and Sarah will find a way and be together no matter what, even when it was all taken away from them.
But the season really suffered from a lack of focus and a lack of any real bad guy or threat or story arc. If they had had one, I would have preferred to see Chuck and Sarah kick ass together as a couple and get the happy ending they had planned for, instead of the happy new beginning they ended up with.
Despite the sort of crappy final season, I still love the show and am sad to see it over, while simultaneously amazed that it lasted five seasons when it could easily have been cancelled after two. It was a great fun show with fun characters and happy endings, and I always appreciated it for that.
