I've been trying to find a way to express how I feel about this series, and I think I've found it.

This is the Adam West Batman version of Sherlock Holmes.
I really enjoyed the books, and from the first movie I was annoyed at many of the discrepancies, and despite that I enjoyed the movie quite a bit. I complained about it because it's "mystery" was ridiculously weak and the thing felt more like an action flick than a mystery anyway, and this second movie is the same. But they're hilarious.
I think the parts where this movie was trying to be serious ranged from mediocre to terrible (the flight through the forest in particular was a boring mess) but when it goes completely over the top, it is amazing. The telepathic precognition duel, for example, was absolutely awesome.
