Also note how Vader takes the threat of the rebel fighters seriously, while Tarkin scoffs at the possibility of them doing any harm. Almost like he knew they could do it, but Tarkin was kept in the dark.


I've felt that part of this is that uncanny "father-son force connection" we see between Vader and Luke. That, and Vader did grow up flying various space craft, so he has a very complete knowledge of what one is capable of (even without a Force-powered pilot). I think those two combined could have given him a "bad feeling", even if he didn't really recognize it.
