I had it on in the background while doing some other things. I didn't really expect much as I was severely disappointed in Seasons 2 and 3 (I quit watching Season 3 mid-way through).
It looks like it has some promise though. Killing Danko immediately was an excellent choice. That character had nothing to offer the show anymore. It was nice to see them show some balls and knock of a useless character instead of trying to continue him or her beyond his or her life cycle. Making people come back when they should have been dead has been a major point of criticism for this show.
Speaking of the dead, I like the Parkman/Sylar thing. THIS is what they should have done with Sylar after Season 1 instead f bringing him back for that lame ass plot line with the Hispanic chick that could kill everyone around her. Sylar is Parkman's problem now and not the rest of the Heroes which frees them up to move onto other things like this new "villain".
Speaking of, I am not quite sure what his deal is. Even if he gathers others to him with good intentions I am not sure has anyway to really control them. I tend to agree with others that he "might" have good intentions, but as we have seen in the past good intentions can lead to a lot of problems. The chick he was tattooing had a look several times that she was not all into what he was doing, I suspect she will be a factor later when things start going wrong.
Claire-bear wasn't too annoying surprisingly. I didn't see the suicide coming and the preview for next week gave what I think is a red herring as the circus guy addresses someone who is near Claire whose job is to work on isolating her. I suspect this is the person who was messing around with her in class and also made/convinced mentally the roommate to jump. I think the red herring is that the producers want us to assume it is the tall girl.
I did like the fight scene with Peter. Nice effects but no overdone. I liked Peter's return to helping people too; he wasn't too much of an emo-like distraught asshole.
All together I would say that I may make an attempt to catch a few more episodes before slamming the show again, maybe they turned a corner. We'll see. If it starts getting stupid again then I will be the first to bail out.

But wine was the great assassin of both tradition and propriety...

Samuel's eulogy and mission seems like he could be a bad guy with good intentions. Magneto-like.

I agree! Hiro needs to go. Seppuku preferably or killed by Ando. Looks like death by powers tho. *NM*

A great start for Heroes. Unfortunately, that's comparatively bad by real world standards.

I thought the same thing about Peter & abilities. Time to suspend some more disbelief. *NM*
