Oh God, I feel like I need a cigarette after watching that

Hugo Weaving nailed it. He hit it out of the park and into the next county. He was so utterly perfect. The acting, the accent, the outfit, the...everything! He was SUCH an asshole! He was such a badass! That fight between him and Cap at the end was the hottest thing I've ever seen! (the second hottest thing I've ever seen is when, after his Hydra goons showed that they studied at the Stormtrooper School of Marksmanship, he picked up one of their discarded guns and proceeded to vaporize like, five guys in a row ) Also, I loved his hilariously over the top car.
The rest of the movie was quite enjoyable too. I enjoyed the action scenes quite a bit, Cap himself was pretty endearing, I liked how they worked Bucky into it (a boy sidekick would have ruined our suspension of disbelief, so I'm glad they made him just another soldier who happened to be Cap's friend), I laughed when Dum Dum Dugan showed up (whether in comic book form or in movie form, I still want to kick him in the face whenever I see him ), and I loved the cheesy "Buy War Bonds" montage. I also enjoyed the little shoutout to Cap's very first appearance in comics, when they had him punch "Hitler" in the face
I wasn't a big fan of Zola though. I mean, he's pretty damn ridiculous in the comics, but at least he's not so passive there. Whereas, in the movie, he was SUCH a weenie. That might have worked if we'd at least been able to see him get some comeuppance in the end, but since he just disappeared from the movie, it was unsatisfying. C'mon, somebody needed to punch that little shit in the face a few dozen times I kinda wish they'd ditched him and put Baron Zemo in the movie instead. Zemo is hilarious
But for the most part, it was a really fun movie and I just loved it. Definitely worth the wait, and I'm glad I finally got to see it (weekend plans fell through due to some family stuff). Oh, and my theater didn't have it in 3D, but I didn't really feel like I missed much. Other than the end credits, there didn't seem to be any really obvious "OMG, I'll bet that would look really cool in 3D" moments. Ah well...
Red Skull rules.
(did they even call him that once in the movie? ' /> )

The trick is to save 3D glasses and then only buy tix to normal shows.

Fair is not right. Right is objective and abstract. Fair is emotional & subjective.
