This movie is hysterical.
The entire film takes place over the course of one day: the last day of summer camp. The counselors of this camp include such luminaries as Michael Showalter, Paul Rudd, Molly Shannon, Christopher Meloni, Elizabeth Banks, Michael Ian Black, Bradley Cooper, and Amy Poehler. Janeane Garofalo is the camp director, and David Hyde Pierce is her awkward local astrophysicist love interest.
It is brilliant. It's obvious the actors are having the time of their lives overacting and just generally being ridiculous. Paul Rudd, for instance, chewed scenery with such vigor he was probably pulling splinters out of his mouth for weeks. I don't even know if it qualifies as a satire, butmost all of the characters are caricatures, and the whole thing is just so ridiculous, it is truly, truly hilarious.
Anyway, it's probably not for everyone, but if you like ridiculous surreal humor you'll probably like this film. Very, very silly, and that's a good thing.
