If Martin's series is good for anything, it's seeing the butterfly effect at work

And how innocent or seemingly innocent actions in one book can have dire ramifications in the future... The Hound's act here included, lol.
All in all, a very good episode, though I still dislike the way Robb is continuously portrayed in the show versus how he is in the books.
And the episode really worried me when Catelyn was talking to Jaime like that! Not certain why they decided to put that into this episode, but whatever, no harm done.
And all the pieces have been nicely set up for the upcoming season. I'm excited.
Oh, and since I have to list all my complaints, rather than write about things that I actually did like, I'll also mention the Pycelle scene. While I did like them showing that he isn't as good a maester as he pretends to be (as if his "eloquent" speeches on Cercei's behalf did not already show that) by having female companions over, I don't approve of them making it seem like his rambling old man persona is just a facade. Still, that's trivial as long as he doesn't end up overpowering some guardsmen in the future or something.
And finally, I loved the scene with Varys and Littlefinger. They are utterly perfect in their roles there.

You're letting things that aren't even close to happening in the show affect your comparison??

I'm not sure that's a fair comparison. *general book spoilers*
