ALl of those little vignettes, that little northern town where Shadow stays for a while, they all help to set the mood of the book.
And I'd have to say I preferred the original, leaner version. Which isn't to say don't like the little details, i do, its just i see that the mood would be conserved without every single one.
I like the original, but I will admit that the addition of more vignettes does seem unnecessary.
I amuse myself.
