They have time travel now. Does every property touched by Abrams have to do this? I could accept making inter-dimensional travel almost routine and giving Olivia plot-convenient superpowers, and "revealing" connections between Olivia and the Bishops that go back a lot further and all sorts of other genre tropes, but time travel kills everything.
I also suspect the "Peter never existed" thing is an attempt to get rid of the baby. Babies kill everything. Time travel and babies always ruin sci-fi, particularly those franchises that rely on being somewhat normal and connected to the real world.
