Since when was the Hand's chain of office a broach? What's Tyrion going to do, stab Shae to death with it? Somehow that's not as fitting as the song and strangling.

I hadn't even thought of that.....interesting. Maybe they will have Tyrion (or Tywin) change it to the hand-chain later, inspired by the harbor chain he had commissioned?

Also, I was not as pleased with the inn scene. Maybe its because I loved that scene so much in the books, it seemed so forced on screen. As well, it would have been a lot cooler if the men at arms there had simply drawn their swords rather than pointed them at Tyrion...somehow I don't think there was a need to point 10 swords at a defenseless dwarf. Drawing them would have made more sense, the threat is there but it doesn't seem so over dramatic.

I liked the scene, but was also put-off by the pointing swords...it's just odd and over-the-top.

That said, I liked Hodor (if he's a lot older than I pictured him) and I like the set up for how the Greyjoys will betray the Starks later on.

I pictured Hodor much younger also, but I really don't recall if there were hints in the book (or plain statements) about his age. He is BIG though, which was good.

Oh, and the Mountain is WAY too small. I realize they had a limited pool to choose from but come on, I was expecting someone who when mounted looked like Zdeno Chara on the ice-gigantic. This guy looks barely above normal size.

I don't know....he seemed at least 1-foot taller than Sir Hugh while on horse, which is quite a bit. If Hugh is 6', than that puts the Mountain at 7', which I think he's supposed to be (maybe 7'6" tops?) Later scenes will justify his size or not...that scene was too quick to get an accurate picture I think. What they may have needed was simply a bigger horse, like Clydesdale size.

I would slave, to pave the way, to sink your ship of fools.
