Easily my favorite episode so far (Arya's dancing lesson at the end being by far my favorite scene).
A wonderful scene, and Arya is quickly becoming a favorite just as she is from the books. The actress playing her is beginning to shine.
However, I was a bit disappointed in the scene with Ned where she breaks down over Mycah(sp?). In the book, this was a very powerful scene for me, with Arya displacing angst and anger towards Sansa, when really she was very distraught over her role in Mycah's death. Her sudden confession, followed by burst of tears, with Ned embracing her and consoling her was a wonderful moment in the books. On TV, it didn't carry the same weight for me and seemed watered down.
More and more I am coming to love Maise William's performance, as well as Coster-Waldau (was this guy born to play Jaime Lannister or what?). Both of them have been spot on, and they are making me yearn for episodes, and seasons, down the road as their characters develop even more.
Agreed.
Aidan Gillen (Littlefinger) is nearly as slimy as the actor playing Varys, and Iain Glen's Ser Jorah has given us a hint of his own motivations.
Both are excellent (Littlefinger/Varys) and I like how Mormont has subtly given glimpses about his motivations...I wonder if non-readers have picked up on this.
The thing that bothers me the most (well, two things): where is the 3 eyed crow from Bran's dreams (hell, what happened to his dreams in the first place??), and WHERE IN THE SEVEN HELLS IS GHOST!!!???!!!
The 3-eyed crow will likely take on more importance later, possibly even starting in season 2. They may have simply had to delay it for timing purposes.
EDIT: removed Ghost comment, and I confused Ep.2 for Ep.3 doh!
