Maise Williams (Arya). She will become America's next little darling, like that girl from "Little Miss Sunshine" was for a while.
I'll stick to some gripes as overall it was kickass level and I loved it.
Viserys doesn't come off nearly as jack-assery as he was in my mind. TBH, I can't recall off-hand his early demeanor in the books. I imagined him as someone who is basically a sneering jagoff. In this 1st episode he seemed too calm with Daenerys when talking about letting 40,000 Dothraki rape her, or when talking about taking back his throne. I didn't get any sense of his madness, of a person pushed to the edge and in the beginnings of a mental breakdown. Maybe when the Dragon comes out things will change, but to me he came across as a bit too calm and rational given what he's just gone through. And I pictured Illoryio(?) as a much, much fatter, obese, visually disgusting person.
Drogo is big, and painted up all war-like, but he looks too damn pretty for my taste. In fact, the Dothraki look too pretty overall. They didn't come across as a rugged, nomadic, war people to me. Seemed too put-together if that makes sense. And I realize it was probably a good idea to tone down some of the violence, but the wedding scene which was supposed to have multiple rapings and killings and generally be a chaotic affair, instead looked more like a dance with the women enjoying the moment and the men playing at being king-of-the-mountain. This carried into the scened with Dany and Drogo, which also seemed a bit too tame and misplaced as well....the setting was too honeymoon-like which for me contrasted badly with what was supposed to be going on between the two.
I was a bit shocked at the lack of snow in Winterfell....and I can't recall if this is true to the books. I know it's the tail-end of summer, but isn't there still snow in the north?
Like many others, Sansa is the biggest shock regarding casting. She isn't drop-dead gorgeous (I know, it's relative) and the actress comes across as forcing Sansa's demeanor, rather than it being true. But maybe that's the point.....Sansa is a rather shallow character, especially early on.
Tyrion is going to steal this show.....Dinklage is perfection. Snow is a close 2nd. I cannot wait to see Tyrion going head-to-head with Littlefinger.....can't wait.

But wine was the great assassin of both tradition and propriety...

Poopy was kinda strong language. It is a matter of taste and Aemon is my new favorite.
