I think you're pretty close to remembering correctly Jim Send a noteboard - 19/04/2011 02:28:06 AM
It took her several days of riding a horse and Drogo before she stopped weeping constantly. I thought they conveyed the helplessness of her situation rather well with the abbreviated scene.

I'm misremembering? It's been a very long time since I read the first book, so maybe I should reread. Now that you say it, I think I just abridged the story in my head. ;) And that actually makes me happy, because there's hope for the other scene yet.

All in all, very true to the book and masterfully done with such a short amount of screen time. Don'tcha Think?

Yes.

Drogo only saying "No" over and over again as the start is how the scene plays out, though the book is much longer. It ends with him asking "No?" and Dany responding "Yes." Which is a pretty big difference to how the scene ended on the show.

As for the riding a horse, her first thought was "And for the first time in hours, she forgot to be afraid.."
Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so.
