Why would the current head of the CofE be embarrassed to share the name with a previous head of the CofE?
That's ridiculous in the first place, because then no monarch should be ashamed to share the name of any previous monarch.

(Disclaimer: I haven't seen the movie, but have been planning to do so for a while)

I think he's talking about the whole emphasis in the movie on how divorce is so very bad. Then, there's the bit about how royals get to choose their reigning name, you've got to be careful to pick a name with no negative aspersions, etc. Soooo...if divorce is so bad, why did QE2 choose to reign with the name 'Elizabeth', when the first Elizabeth was the product of re-marriage following divorce? QE2 is clearly not embarrassed by the association, so what's the hang up on divorce then?
Yes, although it was mostly just a dig at QE1. Whenever someone held that baby in "The Tudors," my brother and I would chant "drop it, drop it" at the screen.

Anyway, Cannoli will correct me if I'm wrong, but I THINK that's the argument he's making.

I find this all highly amusing though. At the end of the day, it's just an apparently well-acted piece of fancified history.
Well, it gets on some of our nerves, and more justifiably, IMO, than those people who post threads on this board whining about the language issues in movies that are clearly aimed at a monophonic audience. As for the rest, this is the internet, and disputing the internal logic of a movie is what we do here!
