Diaper commercials show baby butts all the time. I think that if it's going to be a big deal for "Skins" to show teen butt, then diaper companies should quit showing baby butt.

Its all about intent. A diaper commercial's intent is not to get someone all riled up...or help some sick guy get off. The intent is to sell diapers.

From what I read the intent of the episode of Skins in question is to be funny. It doesn't sound like it's aiming to get people off.

Have we, as a society, come so far as to be cavallier about actual teens behaving in such a way as to be *actually* destructive to their lives? And this is entertainment? Sure, they are acting...or are they just playing out for a camera what they do in their personal life?

Yes we have. Turn on an episode of Jersey Shore or The Real World. That's exactly what our society has come to. I personally hate it, but those shows aren't made for me.

Maybe I sound prudish...but I voicing my thoughts here. Not last week, if not a bit before that, there was a post about people here being ok with sex with dead bodies or incest . There was all sorts of "concent issues" or some such. People, lets be for real.... sex with a dead body . No one finds this disturbing and is willing to say so? And that anyone who wants to do this is maybe screwed up in the head?

I find it to be disturbing. I don't often go over to the community board so if it was there I likely missed it. I find it to be highly disgusting.

And here we have a TV show about teens not just behaving badly, but glorifying it....and then we're quibbling about age of concent and baby diaper commercials?

Again, look at reality shows in general just about every one of them that I've seen glorifies it.

Spock: I find that remark…insulting.

I find the idea that a 17-yearold is covered by child porn laws strange - 20/01/2011 03:44:46 PM 467 Views
I think 18 is the cut-off for child porn in most places, regardless of the age of consent. *NM* - 20/01/2011 08:26:30 PM 189 Views
