I'm a father of a 2 year-old and I must say: Shows like "Mickey Mouse Clubhouse" and "Imagination Movers" really piss me off. I realize that these shows are geared toward young children and as such aren't required to make much sense, but since they are supposed to make kids think and solve problems shouldn't they at least TRY to make them slightly accurate? For example: Mickey Mouse Clubhouse's Super Goofy episode. They made Goofy able to pick up an elephant with about a dozen little balloons. All this episode really did was entertain kids and make me have to explain to my child in the future that the writers of this show are stupid as hell and you would require THOUSANDS or even millions of balloons to be able to life an elephant (I've seen that episode of Mythbusters, it took something like 3000 balloons to lit an 80 lb girl). That's just one stupid thing on Mickey Mouse that isn't helping children to develop intelligence like it's supposed to.
Still on Mickey for a moment, I don't think he's a good role model for kids. Sure most kids haven't seen "Plane Crazy" but it established Mickey as a sexual predator (don't believe me? Look it up on youtube, although you might agree with my wife that I'm reading too much into it). In that video (his first appearance ever) he was shown forcing himself on Minnie after her repeatedly making it clear she didn't want his advances, and groping Clara Belle the Cow. Plus what kind of an 80+ year-old dude walks down the road and says to random kids, "Hey, kid, wanna come to my magical clubhouse?" A pedophile! That's right! If I as a 22 year-old guy were to do that I'd be locked up, but this fucker does it repeatedly and is shown as a role model for our kids.
Time to move on to the "Imagination Movers." Four guys "working" in a warehouse where they have rooms for EVERYTHING except for that one all important commodity: INTELLIGENCE. These are four of the dumbest guys I have ever seen. They are supposed to teach my kids what exactly? How to look like idiots? I can teach my kids that much better than they can if I want to.
OK. </rant>

Kirk: Spock, you want to know something? Everybody’s human.
Spock: I find that remark…insulting.

Yeah. You have to interact with them or teach them to read early. No one learns jack from TV *NM*
