as if rewriting large sections of the trilogy wasn't bad enough, now peter jackson wants to bring back these two to fill in places in the hobbit when their characters weren't even part of the story to begin with. i mean, i guess legolas can be slipped in to the mirkwood storyline seeing as he comes from there but i'm having a hard time finding a place to put galadriel. but then, as many problems as this film has had even getting to this point, i'm sure there will be more revelations of this nature until the thing finally arrives in theaters....
I'm very happy Cate Blanchett is returning, as she should, whereas Bloom's returning would be the one that violates canon.
If you say you see no place to put Galadriel, then it kind of seems like you missed a number of memos on just what this Hobbit duology will depict? It's been established for a long time that the movie will have not only the events of the Hobbit proper, but also the storyline that is going on in the background of the Hobbit - the attack by the White Council (Gandalf, Saruman, Elrond, Galadriel) on the stronghold of the Nazgul in the southern Mirkwood.
