Sam Merlotte - I don't think he killed his brother, but wounded him. I'm not sure I like the dick-sam honestly. I like the sweet sam.
I don't care for the dick-Sam either. Of course, Sam does get used quite a bit, but it's much nicer that he's a good guy still. I also thought the moment when Tommy said he couldn't read, he could have had a bit more sympathy.
Tara - I didn't get her storyline at all. Why did she cut off her hair? "to make a change?" why did it make her cry? Did Eggs love her hair or something? And why did she drive through Merlottes with a smile?
People often change their hair when they want to do something new. I think she's going to leave the place behind, kind of like Sam told her.
When Crystal left her with her brother/fiance.. I thought that was ridiculous. But I liked what Jason did to help Hotshot's community. However, Jason's character is kind of all over the place.
Yes, he is kind of all over the place. But he wants to feel responsible and like he's doing good in the world. He's just not very smart.
Hoyt - Man oh man, I loved that he told his big fat mama off. But I hope she didn't buy wooden bullets with that rifle she bought. (if it wasn't a rifle, don't correct me, because I really don't actually care.. gun then if you will)
I think it's a rifle? But I'm no expert. Yes, I love how Hoyt doesn't listen to his mother. But you can already see the drama in his and Jessica's future: they can't have babies (and she's always a virgin, that's going to chafe - pun intended).
I LOVED that they put Russel in a foundation - but wouldn't it have been better had they put him in concrete and put him somewhere they could "keep in eye" on him. Because he is right, 100 years is not a long time to a guy who's been alive for thousands of years.
Yes, on the other hand, it's also not very nice.
Eric - I just love that he somehow got out of the concrete and told Sookie about Bill's deceit - while covered in concrete. But if he can escape..
I was thinking the same thing. How can Eric escape, but Russel just stay put? He's 3 times as old as Eric. So a little piece of silver is going to hold him back?
Bill - I did not like him in this episode. When they were cementing Russel, I felt like he was the sidekick kind of saying "YEAH!!" and when he threw Eric in.. well, that was a dicky thing to do. And selfish too - because it wasn't about keeping Sookie safe, but about keeping his own lies safe. I have no doubt that he loves Sookie, but this was a complete CYA move.
In the books, Bill is much more of a dick than he is in the series. He's just not very cunning... all his plans fall apart so easily.
Sookie - she is kind of turning into a badass. But really, "don't even bother coming over, I revoke your invitations into my home" and then Bill shows up and she's all "come in.." please. And I'm not sure I'm digging the way the fairy thing is playing out. But I hope that was Claudine's brother walking kind of right behind Claudine in that last scene.. yum.
I recently rewatched the first episode, and she's actually more bad ass there than I noticed at the time.
Yes, she's nice to Bill, and about to forgive him. I guess she just does love him and that's not easy to turn off.
True Blood Finale: what did you think? *no real spoilers, but my opinion does give a hint*

Ah, that makes a lot of sense... she killed the assassin and then freed Eric as she felt him *NM*

Yes, there was too much going on, so there was no main story line
