I do wonder why people let this movie off the hook so easily, though.

I haven't seen it yet, so this is nothing against this film but rather pro-other (action) flicks of recent years.
I mean there have been action films with really good stories (M:I3 for example) and still people found stuff to complain about, especially when it comes to suspension of disbelief. And here they suddenly don't care anymore, because they didn't expect anything else from Sly and co.? Doesn't make sense to me.
Why don't they go into every film expecting little and finally learn how to have a decent, entertaining time instead of coming back from the theater writing "WORST STORY EVA!!1!" in their blog.

You mustn't be afraid to dream a little bigger, darling.

Not so much of a review than warning: The expendables.

I heard him say he originally had a script that was much more intelligent and story driven...

Except for the whole Mickey Rourke monlogue, which was both amazing AND thought provoking. *NM*

Because you don't expect these guys to make a thought-provoking or well acted film.
