- Steven Spielberg, Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci are gearing up to make a television series from spooky supernatural comic Locke & Key, written by Joe Hill. And they've hired Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles' Josh Friedman to run the show.
New York Magazine is reporting that Locke & Key, written by Joe Hill and illustrated by Gabriel Rodriguez, is getting ready to be made into a "major TV franchise." Orci and Kurtzman originally wanted the material to turn into a feature film, but they've now got Friedman, former showrunner of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, to write and produce the TV series.
Locke & Key's story focuses on three kids who end up keeping watch over a spooky old mansion that is a giant maze full of hidden portals and adventures. A few of the rooms, which turn into worlds, even give the kids superpowers. According to rumor, Fox is hoping to seal the deal with DreamWorks TV.
