Liam Neeson was lovely. And there isn't really anything wrong with Ewan McGregor. He was just given very bad lines.
I don't think Liam Neeson came out of it that well - the whole script felt contrived and like the lines weren't coming naturally to the characters like they did in the original. It made everyone seem a bit more wooden than really are.
Yes. But if we are going by good actors vs bad actors, Neeson beats all (except Alec Guinness) in the first film hands down. I agree that the lines are atrocious. The real quality of McGregor and Neeson (and Guinness in the older) is that they actually manage to say them as if they were things one could say.
