The main character, Elena, lost both her parents in a car crash which she survived. The new boy in school is super pretty and is interested in her, and they click, but he's a vampire! She doesn't know this yet. He's the good kind, drinking only animal blood (but! with dark secrets). He also has an evil brother who came back into town to torment Stephen and also with an agenda of his own, to open an old tomb with super important secrets inside. We don't know why the brothers hate each other, or how they became vampires. The twist is that Elena could be an identical twin of their first love, Katherine. When the brothers were human 200 years ago, they both loved this girl, and she kinda of played them both. But then Stephan caused her death (we don't know how), and the evil brother is still mad about that, so he goes around killig people, brainwashing Elena's friends, while being super beautiful, funny, and snarky, and oh right! he has a super secret agenda, so he goes around collecting ancient artifacts, getting in trouble with a secret council that's existed for generations to hunt vampires. And then more stuff happens.
