Are these new vampires (Twilight, True Blood, this crap) a permanent thing? Will Dracula be forgotten in twenty years in favour of Edward Cullen? He sparkles, you know.
I really hope that wave dies very soon, as decent as TB seems to be from what I hear. I can't come up with any spark of enthusiasm for any of it.
ALSO, the TV series is much better than the books by all accounts.
Ok for example. Legend of the Seeker - I really liked the show, but for personal reasons. I'll grant that it was middling. Vampire Diaries, on the other hand, is good. it's still romancy and yes, about high schoolers, but with action and mystery and great acting and fast moving plot and coolness.
