No, not the movie. 28 days! Why do I have to wait to get Book of Eli until the middle of July when it came out on 6/15?
As some of you may already know, Netflix is hitting a lot of new releases with a 28 day wait before letting their users pick them up (depending on the studio). I just found out yesterday, when I missed out on Book of Eli and Percy Jackson for my son for no apparent reason.
After a year of problems with longer and longer wait periods for new movies, I think this is it for me. I'm going to drop Netflix and go with something else. This should really help some of the other rental outlets, who Netflix seemed to be beating out from a competition standpoint (like Blockbuster).
Anyone use the Blockbuster movies in the mail service? Does it work well?

Off the top of my head, this may have more to do with the studios' greed than with Netflix. The demand from people who want to buy instead of rent is probably highest the first month after release, so the studios limit the number of DVDs they sell to rental outfits.
Netflix - 28 days later! - Seriously?

We do redbox too, but we're way out in the boonies so returning them can be a pain.

That is why they're doing it. Blockbuster had to pay extra to get it on the date of release.

I might try Blockbuster's mailing service. Going to look into what they can stream, etc.

Delistings definitely not a good sign. Knew they were in trouble, but that's pretty bleak. *NM*
