I somehow allowed my sister to talk me into watching Dear John with her.

It was a maudlin, plodding film that I would not recommend to anyone. It was really, super boring, and filled with all sorts of tiresome cliches designed to make little girls cry (e.g. cancer, soldiers, letters, the moon is the same everywhere on earth, autism, the beach, anonymous donations, etc etc). I wasn't even paying attention and couldn't wait for it to end. And Channing Tatum kept wearing really baggy clothing for some inexplicable reason ... come on, Channing, if you're going to be the one bright spot in this movie, you need to not dress like you weigh 500 pounds when really we all know you have chiseled abs. Oh, and he also had the personality of a brick, and that same goes for his girlfriend, played by Amada Seyfried. And every other character in the movie. BORING!
If you want to see a romantic movie, go rent Pride and Prejudice or something. The Notebook was better, and I didn't even like the Notebook either. Consider yourself warned!
