If more than one flashback was wrong, that makes it even more interesting. I also noticed that the Doctor stuck his arm right into the crack, when before he said that touching the light would erase you from existence. Maybe it's something simple, like the light being separate from the crack. The light wasn't coming out of the crack on the crashed ship at first either -- the Doctor stood beside it and took readings. Maybe it was safe to stick his arm in until the light showed up? I'm not sure. It was kind of weird, anyway. And it did seem like something had grabbed him.
I was thinking that, too. But going back to your thought on the Future Doctor moving through the cracks, perhaps it was an issue of two Doctors occupying the same space-time. If the Future Doctor is trying to help Present Doctor solve the problem, perhaps he handed the shard of TARDIS to himself, if you get my meaning. Could explain his reaction when he put his hand in, what with the two versions of the same person coming so close to one another.
