I miss Tennant, occasionally. But I don't miss Russel T. Davies

1) I feel like they are trying to take too much on in each episode, and as a result nothing gets accomplished. I come away from watching each episode scratching my head. I feel like nothing of worth happens in the episodes.
Take too much out? I'm not sure I understand this one.
2) Amy doesn't respect the Doctor. Yes, he let her down several times when she was little, and because of him her entire town thought she was crazy-- these things explain the trust issues somewhat, but their dynamic is just completely off.
I like their dynamic. Amy is the first real companion of the new era, I feel. The others were rather annoying in their genericness. I know most people don't agree with me on this. While I enjoyed the chemistry between Doctor and Rose, I never liked Rose.
I am not expecting the same dynamic, production, etc of the previous 2 seasons, but I do compare the watchability of the two directors/doctors/writers and come away disliking this season. I understand that things adapt, change, regress, etc but I always hope that whatever manipulation is applied will still maintain the same watchability.
Why would you not expect the same dynamic production? The best writer of the previous seasons is currently head writer. The insane need to include the same boring group of people (yes, I mean Rose's family and friends, Martha's family and Donna's mother (I'll never complain about her grandfather)) is thankfully gone, and I rather like that Torchwood and Sarah Jane are taking a break, too. It got repetitive. This new one feels like old Doctor Who.
I really hope that this show turns around and starts engaging me again. I think the only episode I have truly enjoyed has been the Starship Britain episode.
Really? I have the same problem with that as I do with the rest of this new show (for I do have one problem): the monsters are not as cool as I would like.

Am I the only one disappointed with the new Doctor Who series?

I like arc plots, but they always do the mistake of trying to
