It is very, very tough to walk from France to England Cannoli Send a noteboard - 15/05/2010 12:51:20 AM
The trailers look horrible. Please tell me there is some excuse for the massive battle scene with the boats?

Actually, of course, in the 12th century, the King of England's domain included much of France, and that was considered the good part (for instance, William the Conqueror's eldest son did NOT inherit England, but Normandy. England was dumped on his younger brother). If France wanted to attack England in those days, they'd be going for the English-held part of modern France. Of course, trying to explain that to a modern audience would be a bit tough, not to mention they'd probably side with the French thinking in Panglossian hindsight that what is now France rightfully belonged to the French for all time. And let's not even get into the issue of King John's native tongue being French. IIRC, his grandson was the first English-speaking king of England.

If this is an origin story why is Robin Hood being played by a bloated guy in his late 40's? *NM* - 14/05/2010 06:12:04 PM 438 Views
