And yes, I agree the events do seem rather naive, having gone to the effort of acquiring the uniforms, one would expect them to know the most basic of organization. Also, I don't think there are many people in Amadacia who couldn't name at least a couple Lord Captains, Lord Bornhald comes to mind, it would have been very easy to say that they were a few of his men left behind to watch troop movements when he went where he went, nor is his death a secret, that would have seemed to have fit better. It is not like we keep the names of our leaders a secret, nor in most cases where each legion is. So whoever they are, I almost have problems believing they are darkfriends, if the darkfriends were that incapable of even the most basic cover story we would have wiped them all out centuries ago. I would guess they are probably spies, and we might have been better off if the guard had let them through and just let us know, then we could have observed them and controlled what information they sent back. Now we probably can't use them for that purpose, since we wouldn't know if they had some special word they had to use to indicate they'd been captured or hadn't been captured. Then again, considering how incompetent they were coming in, it's unlikely they had such safety measures in place. We should consider the significant chance they might actually have been decoys, or wished to be caught." I'll frown in a semblance of deep thought. "But why? To slip someone else through afterwards would be nigh impossible, guards are always more alert right after an incident, and if they sent someone by earlier, why bother with a decoy at all?
