Finally, the dispatched guard returns, accompanied by four more Children of the Light and a Squadman as well as a cowled Inquisitor flanked by two of the Hand's enforcers. The Squadman is a young fellow, handsome enough and neither scarred nor worn, the men with him marching with in a confident demeanour. Unlike the other Children, the Inquisitor and his enforcers are unarmoured, but they do not seem at all threatened by your presence. When they reach the gate, the Inquisitor takes refuge from the rain under the arch and lifts his cowl, giving you a good look into the face of a well-aged man with a head shaved completely bare. The right side of his mouth twitches upward sporadically in what you would have imagined to be a half-smile, if his face did not otherwise convey a complete and utter lack of humour. His eyes look upon Sammil and Delat in harsh judgment, and you know you have been found wanting.

"These are the Darkfriends who tried to slip into the Light's own haven?" asks the Squadman in a soft voice, being rapidly confirmed in his assumption by the present sentries.

"Right. Well, Senior Lieutenant Haral, having heard of the situation and being curious as to the motives and intentions of these intruders has instructed me to have them escorted to the dungeons where they will remain until the Hand of the Light has acquired that information from them, and judges them sufficiently repentant..."

As he talks the Inquisitor, apparently not much caring for anything the young officer has to say, orders his men to search and disarm the intruders, which being done, he interrupts the Squadman. "We can get moving now and leave the guards to their duty, there is no need to explain every insignificant detail to them, yes? Caid, get them moving. The Senior Lieutenant wants you in his office once you are done here, and you, file leader, since you appear to have
nothing to do, you can report to him immediately, yes? And take those two idiots gawking at us from across the courtyard - I want the Child on report for his ineffectual conduct, and the servant strapped for loitering. Now move, move! Are you coming, Squadman? Your orders were to escort the prisoners to the dungeon so we can get about our work, yes?"

With that, the Inquisitor pulls his cowl back up and heads out into the rain, and the Children set about their respective tasks, escorting the disarmed Sammil and Delat into the bowels of the Fortress of the Light. The guards return to their post, though they do shoot back a look to share their scorn of the Questioners, and to note whether you are following your orders.
