Maite shakes her head, "I regret to inform you that I know very little in regards to Jacob bar Josef's abduction. I've had little desire to be involved in this mess at all until it came to my doorstep."
She bows her head, "Not in yourself, that is. It seems that every whelp and minor lordling of the night wishes for me to either assasinate his better so that he might rise in ranks in this chaotic time, or even break my way into the Inquisition's chambers and assassinate the Rey himself!! And somehow arrange for them to become the new Rey--as if such was in my powers."
Her eyes lift up to Alessandro's and she meets them boldly. Here in her home, Maite de Noche is unmatched and she has no fear of him.
"I am tired of these fools, Padre. The only good served by them showing on my doorstep is that I can eliminate them without effort. Whatever contentment I find in my place elsewhere, I am a Hunter without Prey and only weakened pheasant in my sight."
She breaks eye contact with the Padre and flicks a bit of dust off the arm of the chair, "But that is why you are here, yes? I must truly doubt a man of your esteem would be wise enough not to show upon my door with naught but pretty words and ambitions."
