It was always frustrating to be a half-elf, especially when traveling contested waters. And of course, the crew expects a Psy Mage to assist in combat, regardless of ancestry or personal feelings.
He decided to try and stay out of combat, and threw up a telekinetic sphere around himself. He was tall, as were most half-elves, and he had to expand his sphere more than some others would. At least he close-cropped red-brown hair wouldn't get in the way, like it did for some long-haired mages.
He figured the sphere would keep him safe for a little while, but then he saw the catapult fire.
"Herdel be damned." And with that, he used a telekinetic pulse to launch himself toward the shore, hoping to land in at least decently deep waters.
[Yes, Mages are divided by elements. And capitalized. Shut up.]
