I don't think Isaac was expecting that, anyway, but it seems like we need a new tack.
From the answers we've seen so far ( 8 out of 12 answered from the table, plus beet and Hobo who are not on the table yet - and yes, Isaac: that's another viewcount), I think we can safely conclude that asking for (coded) names will not help, beyond what those names may or may not imply in terms of occupation/roles or background (although I doubt any of the scum will use Bill the Butcher ). Unless we get any "you saw a flash of red hair in the dark" type clues from the Mod, asking for anything about appearance is not useful either.
Since there is not much of an implied fictional universe we're playing in, I think we can discard the whole "asking questions" part altogether. Now, were does that leave us? I think the best way forward would be a Lynch, revealing any clues about voting, and maybe get some info on the Dusk and/or Dawn message if we're lucky. Since there is not much information to go by, except (un)willingness to answer the questions (and participate), this leaves Sacriligious Toast and Ranagrande. I'm unwilling to vote for a newbie, without any real suspicions. At the same time, Rana posted RBIRL until today (Monday).
Random voting is starting to look a little bit better. Although you just KNOW that a random vote is skewed towards the Scum, as they have more information then the Town. Although (2) that might reveal anybody jumping on a Vote and/or Bussing. Hmmm. I may have to think this through a little bit more.
I don't think we should lynch either of them for the reasons you give. Rana was RBIRL before the table came out so that's passable and ST is new so we should cut him some slack. I do (and have always seen) some merit towards random lynches, though I do agree, due to our several arguments from years ago, that it generally benefits the scum since they can push their own agendas while the town is completely in the dark. So let's try to refrain from that at this point. I'd say let's wait AT LEAST till the end of the week, preferably another couple, before we enter random lynch discussions. We can talk about educated lynches, sure, but not totally random just yet.
CS/CpE. Yay engineering!
