Guess I'm down for it if only to keep things moving.
it is very common for us to reach the point of the 'mass roleclaim', the scum have to come up with fake ones, often these overlap or conflict with existing roleclaims and we can bag someone. However, the scum will tend to try to use existing knowledge to minimize that risk. if we start claiming and person 3 says 'i'm a doc' then the scum know not to claim doc.
by ciphering we ensure everyone has made their claim before they have seen other people's claims. then when they are all in, we decipher, if someone refuses, or 'loses' their key, or was needlessly vague, we lynch them, and we then can look at all the roles and see what fits and what doesn't.
a tracker and a cop and a watcher with only 10 players? one is surely lying, possibly two
5 out of 8 players claiming vanilla (no role power)? too many, one or more is lying.
... and so on, we've done this many times and usually very effectively, we've just never done a coded mass roleclaim and decode on day 1 before. in this case we have little to lose, our cop is already exposed with no leads as a result. but our opposition has a lot. they probably haven't spoken yet, they don't know anything about each other, they won't have discussed fake claims. they will make a mistake, we will have a good chance to get one of them today and a better net chance of exposing them to our own roles. a blitz now will seriously minimize their future ability to make a seamless smooth cover even if we don't get one.
there's also death toll. if there's 2 of them and 6 of us and we get one today we almost certainly win. all the various factors make it very hard to hide as a lone scummer for round after round especially if the town has roles and you either had no roleblocker, just lost them, or have to skip roleblocking in favor of night kills.
alternatively even if both survive today and we go into tomorrow 4-2, which is what will probably happen if we don't blitz now, we have an entire day to compare the dead bodies and their posthumously revealed roles to what people have claimed, along with anything else gleaned during the night. if we can't find a solid inconsistency we can no lynch and go into day 3 3-2, one more night and one more body to find an inconsistency off of. But if we wait to mass roleclaim the scum will probably have two dead townies to calibrate off of plus a whole night to talk to each other about fake claims.
lastly, we have to consider the very real possibility we're in an atypical game. those happen reasonably frequently by design or accident. you could have a game that is not town v scum, and even more off the beaten path then a sk or cult in there. you could have no scum, a pure townie game where we butcher ourselves into oblivion and the last two people standing win for instance. we had a game once where almost every player was a cop, but a flawed one. if we have one of those weirder setups this will give us a good chance to see it.
