Victory points: Ending the game - Edit 1
Before modification by Fanatic-Templar at 11/01/2013 06:45:29 AM
There are a few ways to end the game. If a player acquires over half the senators available, then he seizes political control of the Confederacy and wins the game. If a player seizes Tarsonis City, then he installs himself at the head of a new regime and wins the game. If half the players accede to surrender in the favour of one player, that player has won over the ruling class of the Confederacy and wins the game.
Most likely, however, is that the game will come to an abrupt end due to one of the more severe crises. Your power within the Confederacy depends on your control over a number of fields, these are Wealth, Income, Senators, Military, Technology, Core World Assets and Other Assets. At the start of the game, each of these fields provide an equal proportion of victory points, but crises will affect their worth throughout the game, making some assets more valuable than others.
Most victory points come from a pot. There are 1000 victory points in the pot, plus 200 for every player who joins the game. 70% of these points are divided proportionally based on your influence in the fields noted above, the other 30% are given for specific achievements, listed below.
In addition to these, every player can obtain static victory points. All players have specific faction objectives to achieve, depending on their distribution of attributes. These can bring in as much as 100 victory points for the player. Every Councillor employed by a player provides him with five free victory points, and Battlecruisers provide three. Certain unique assets can also provide victory points.
Finally, the moderator reserves the right to award victory points for participation, by either increasing activity in the round threads, good roleplaying or causing memorable events in the game.
