Or possibly Belgian or Luxemburger or something, point is they were written in French and come from Europe. I'm pretty sure I can find the lot of them at my local library.
It's easy to remember what's from where: Asterix is French, as is Moebius/Jean Giraud's stuff. Just about every other BD that's famous is Belgian (although admittedly Asterix' scenarist, Goscinny, wrote the best Lucky Luke's, so you could call those semi-French).
And before you ask, no, it wasn't actually the comics thing that drew me to this board, so much as Artsapat's exchange with Larry on Twitter.
