Long time no see, good sir.
I doubt it'll be a problem- I'm pretty sure this will be set before the books. World is:
Renaissance level tech, for the most part. No gunpowder.
World is ruled by an evil demigod.
There are noble "houses" and a peasant underclass, with all the scheming and classism that implies.
The "magicians" have one of the following powers:
- Can "push" telekinetically on metals (Jump real high, shoot coins)
- Can "pull" telekinetically on metals.
- Can make themselves superstrong/tough
- Give themselves supersenses
- Influence the emotions of people (definition of "emotion" is pretty broad)
- Sense other people using magic.
- Hide themselves and others around them from being sensed with above power (also makes immune to emotion-control)
There's a few other small things, but the only other power to know about is the one that lets you see a few seconds into the future, making yourself nigh-unbeatable in combat. "Expensive" ability to use, though (magic runs on eating bits of metal, this is a rare metal called atium).
There are also super-magicians called Mistborn, that can do all of the above.

I amuse myself.
