On top of era, we know everyone is male except Beet, DK, and Yuna, all assuming everyone is being truthful about era and gender and I find this fairly likely
Darth_Katie - Early to Middle Helladic
? - Trojan War, Late Helladic
Beetnemesis - Late Helladic
Bergioyn - Late Helladic
Fanatic-Templar - Trojan War
Gher - Late Helladic
Isaac - Late Helladic
Yunalesca - Archaic to Classical
Fox and Ravens - Classical
Hobo - Classical
Scott Blademaster - Classical
Stephen - Classical
Ranagrande - Classical
So there's our rough grouping by time, two of the players gave an actual 10 year period for their activity and we seem to have 4 others who could be in that time, though that doesn't necessarily mean they are from the Trojan war, lots and lots of myths revolve around the people who were ancestors or descendants of people involved with Troy, like Hercules for instance, or Atreus, or Orestes and Electra, and so on. Our other big grouping is Classic Era, our only two outliers are DK and sort of Yuna, DK's implied her character would qualify as a god or immortal or such though that could also just be a byproduct of a particularly non-real character, same applies with Yuna's perhaps, I believe Archaic to Classic, her answer, was exactly the example I used to describe Oedipus, and that derived its time just from right around the break mark being the earliest date he'd been written about, emphasis 'he' though, Yuna has said she so would either being refer to something similarly murky or is one of the women form that tale. Anyway, we might want to examine our two big groupings to see if there is a tighter time window most or all fit into to, obviously the big moment for the first grouping would be the Trojan War and thus Iliad Characters - even those not at the war who are well known are mostly form mentions in Homer's work.
What sticks out to me is that we've 5 or 6 characters from the Classic Era and that period is not really loaded up with mythological figures, its a period about two centuries long where the people of note are essentially historical figures. This starts from Athens becoming a democracy in 510 BC till Alexander the Great died, and is basically all Athens then Athens vs Sparta, then Alexander. Not a long period, but some obvious characters that would stick out would be people from the movie 300 (that was in 480 BC), the Peloponnesian War, the famous Greek Philosophers, and then the Rise of Macedon. So there's a big slew of characters there too.
I've got some more thoughts on this but I'll keep them to myself for now, we could use some more questions and I think as a incentive we could offer to those who give us good ones we use a drop down the lynch ladder, no blanket Day 1 immunity obviously just an understanding they will require more on them than we usually require for day 1, the only one I can think of for the moment would be the 'name 4 or 5 characters, one of which is you' option. So, thoughts?
