Round 2 Looming Crises

1- Reparations
2- Possible Thinking Machines
3- Violation of Guild Peace
4- A Question of Legitimacy

1 - Description: Reparations
After an outbreak of unrest on their world, a group of minor houses asked the Landsdraad to send in troops to help suppress riots, the Landsdraad agreed and the Emperor sent in some of the Sardaukar. The riots were put down rather over-enthusiastically resulting in hundreds of thousands of deaths, and the minor houses are now asking for reparations for this excessive violence.
Aye: The grateful minor houses transfer control of weapons planned for containing further unrest to the players, amounting 1 unit of militia and 1 Legion Upgrade Token each, Planetary income for the round is up, +200 MS for Poor Planets, 400 for Average and 600 for Rich, including homeworlds, each Standard Asset generates +100 MS.
Nay: The Emperor is pleased with the Landsdraad’s approval of his force’s actions, and grants each player 1 Share of CHOAM Stock for each vote they control, but Electors count for half rounded down as they take a cut (an Elector with 5 votes would grant 2 shares, 6 votes 3 shares). Increased unrest, all Planetary Income is down 50% including homeworlds as resources are diverted to suppress riots, Weapons factories produce +600 MS this round
Temp Factions - Aye: 3d6, Nay: 4d6, Lean Nay: 2d6
Assets – 2 RSA, 1 weak elector, 1 avg elector, 1 RLG, 1 planet, 1 hero

2 – Description: Violation of the Prohibition of against Thinking Machines
A moderately powerful industrial world recently unveiled a new book-film reader that’s is able to guess what other book-films the owner might enjoy based off previous book-films they’ve viewed. An instant commercial success, but powerful groups claim it violates the prohibition against thinking machines by emulating the human mind, and point out that the company’s own marketing claims it can ‘guess’, using reason. They have brought this matter before the Landsdraad.
Aye: The House is divested of all its goods, granting each player either one Manufacturing Facility or one Weapons Factory, determined randomly, 1-4 Manufacturing Facility, 56-Weapons Factory. All Manufacturing Facilities generate 50% less income this round as they ensure they are not similarly in possible violation.
Nay: The House in question grants each player a share of their revenue in the form of 4 shares of CHOAM Stock. Manufacturing Facilities generate 50% more income this round.
Temp Factions - Aye: 3d6, Nay: 4d6, Lean Aye: 2d6
Assets – 3 RSA, 1 weak elector, 1 avg elector, 8 Shares CHOAM Stock

3 - Description: Violation of Guild Peace
The unthinkable has happened, a House has attacked a rival on board a Guild Heighliner. The Guild has asked the matter be turned over to the Landsdraad for a Trial by Forfeiture but demanded it be swift and decisive. The attacking House claims they were attacked first, and evidence indicates that the noble commanding the ship that was later attacked assaulted his counterpart. He admits to striking the other but says it was provoked, and that an actual armed attack on his forces was excessive in the extreme. The Landsdrrad has been asked to decide if the House unlawfully violated Guild Peace.
Aye: The House is divested of all its goods. Their planet goes up for auction the next round and each player receives 1 Random Standard Asset
Nay: Spaceport Income is reduced by 50%, the grateful house grants each player 1d6+2 Stock
Temp Factions - Aye: 3d6, Nay: 4d6, Lean Aye: 2d6
Assets – 1 Spaceport, 1 weak elector, 1 avg elector, 1 planet, 1 hero

4 - Description: A Question of Legitimacy
A somewhat disturbing development has resulted in a question about the paternity of the presumed heir of a Great House, and the state of the dowry of the marriage resulting in the heir. It appears the heir is not the son of the current lord, but rather the byproduct of an affair with a butler in the house who was actually the illegitimate half-brother of the current lord. By the somewhat obscure rules in the marriage contract, which stipulated that the wife-to-be would marry a younger brother in event the husband died without issue to ensure the political alliance occurred, the current heir could be viewed as still the heir, as the contract states that her children by any other family member would inherit. A nephew of the current lord is crying foul, stating that it was clearly meant to cover an early death by his uncle and definitely not meant to cover illegitimate siblings, and demanding the contract be officially ruled not to apply in such a case.
Aye: The nephew (the legitimate one) is declared the legal heir, he becomes a strong elector the next round. The commoners are greatly depressed by the ruling, all Standard Assets produce -300 MS this round, all Electors are pleased, each Elector generates 200 MS for each vote they have.
Nay: The grateful son, er, nephew remains the heir and becomes a Strong Elector available the next round. He showers the players with 1000 MS each, and all Standard Assets produce +100 MS this round as the people are over-joyed with the rags-to-riches story come true. Enraged Electors demand 100 MS per vote they control, -100 MS per Elector Vote controlled.
