Since there is some confusion, here's an example of how a round may go

Player 1--bets 100 coins, donates 50 to player 2
Player 2--bets 200 coins, steals 10 from player 4
Player 3--bets 99 coins
Player 4--bets 30 coins, donates 10 to player 3
(bit in parentheses not shown in public results)
Results:
Player 1: remains with 1220 coins (1000-100+320 from player 4's remaining bank), (50 Karma gained from player 2, for a total of 50 K)
Player 2: remains with 1150 coins (1000-200+10 from player 4+320 from player 4's remaining bank+50 from player 2) (loses 10 Karma points for a total of -10 K)
Player 3: 1330 (bet returned+10 from player 4+320 from player 4's remaining bank) (0 K)
Player 4: Out, bank remaining after round disseminated
Example Ending:
Player 1 wins with a total of 20 coins left, but has the lowest Karma at a -500.
I roll a d6 that lands on 6 with a -2 penalty, for a "result" of 4. The final round is replayed
Example of Writing History:
Player 2 wins a round, and declares that they shall write history. I roll a d4. The result comes up as a 1. The lowest Karma player (Player 3 with a -20) loses 50 coins that go to no one. Game continues and Player 2 cannot use this ability again.
Does that all make sense?
(Note: these examples are all unrelated, don't try to puzzle them out as one game!)

So, is Karma a total, or is it different "towards" people?

You have total Karma, and I'll keep track of who you earned it with.
