Coin Game--New Rules--"For Greed or for Good" - Edit 3
Before modification by LadyLorraine at 16/12/2010 02:47:06 AM
I figured we're all getting bored of the same set of rules, so I decided to throw some new mechanics into the mix.
Old Rules
# You start off with 1000 coins
# Every round you NB me how many you want to spend
# If you submit the lowest, you're out
# If you submit the second lowest, you get all coins you spent back that round and you're still in
# If you fail to submit coins, you will receive a strike and a random submission. If you fail to submit again, you will be out.
>> random submission will be 1d(lowest bid) + 1d(highest bid) formula.
# If a tie occurs for lowest, both are eliminated, if tied for second, both get refunded, otherwise ties don't matter
# Last person standing wins!
*New Rule: When a player loses, their remaining "bank" is distributed evenly amongst the remaining players.
*New "Resource": Karma!!
New Actions
With each round, you may be Good or be Greedy. See below
1)Being Good:
#To be Good, you make an additional "donation" of your coins to one other player. This comes from your total and adds to their end-round total. You gain an equal amount of Karma towards that player. If you reach zero, you are out.
2) Being Greedy
#To be Greedy, you may pay a fee of 50 coins to have a total sum of no more than 200 coins transferred from an indicted player to you. This comes from their total and adds to your end-round total. You lose an equal amount of total Karma.
3) Winners write History
# At the end of each round, the winner may choose to declare a Turn of Fate. I will roll a d4.
1-The Lowest Karmic player is Caught and pays a 50 coin fine
2-The Highest Karmic Player is Rewarded and earns a 50 coin reward
3-The Winner gets Lucky and earns 10 coins
4-The Winner gets unlucky and loses 10 coins
You can only Write History once per game!
New Endings
1) Good Players get New Chances
# When the game is won, the winning player may choose to engage in a Sudden Death match with the individual who donated them the most coins. The bank of the winning player is split evenly between the two players for the Sudden Death Match.
2) Greedy Players get Caught.
# If the player with the Lowest Karma wins, I will roll a d6 with a penalty of 1 point per 200 negative Karma points.
5-6: Player wins
3-4: Last Round is replayed
1-2: Player is Caught and automatically loses to the most Karmic Player
The Presentation of each Round will show only the total coins remaining to a player (with the exception of the loser).
Example Round Results:
Tommy: 1000 coins
Sally: 500 coins
Shaneequa: 920 coins
Timmy: Out
I've tried to iron out most of the kinks, but I'm sure there are still some kinks and loop holes left. I encourage you to play fair, despite the title , and to not exploit any lapse on my part. At the end, please feel free to notify me of any kinks or loopholes you find, but I will not change the mechanics mid-game.
Note below if you wish to join!!! I just noticed that the other game actually is still running. I won't try to run them both at the same time unless people want to so just, you know, let me know when you want to play
