Death Note is one, really the only, anime series I ever got into at all and while the whole 'power corrupts' thing is the whole point of Light's character I wouldn't take as a given that all fans view him as 'evil', well-intentioned megalomaniac zealot but not quite Sith Lord. He could fit a vig role, or, obviously, a serial killer... and I think he's arguably a little cleaner than Deadpool and well, I was wrong about that. I would view Light as a high-prob scummer... but... I'm getting a hint that we may have more than one person from some settings, and if we do, and we have two death note characters, their identity is probably pretty obvious and while that could just be cop and DF, it could also be SK and anti-SK, arsonist/firefighter setup. If we don't have multiple people from a setting, then Light could conceivably be a vig instead of a scummer of some sort, though I'd not hold my breath on it obviously.
