The Wheel of Time turns, and Ages come and pass, leaving memories that become legend. Legend fades to myth, and even myth is long forgotten when the Age that gave it birth comes again. In one Age, called the Third Age by some, an Age yet to come, an Age long past, a wind rose in the Plains of Maredo, in that plain scarred by the battle between the two great nations that has dominated this area for centuries. The wind was not the beginning. There are neither beginnings nor endings in the turnings of the Wheel of Time. But it was A beginning.
The wind tore south, over the far-reaching, rolling, grassy plains, the site of numerous battles up to this point, and to be the location of far more before this turning of the Wheel is done. It came across the small town of Trandan nestled between two small bumps, some called them the twin hills, though they were really no more than bumps. As it came down upon the town new scents were added to its gaseous mass. The smells of horses and people, moving around. The smell of smoke and steel drifting from the blacksmiths shop. And above all, an all pervading, and very new, and very strange smell. The smell of blood. Blood and rotting flesh.
It had happened last night, only a night ago, but to the inhabitants and to the wayfarers, it seemed much longer. The mayor, his family and his staff, were all murdered viciously. The mayor himself, cut apart into many small and bloody chunks by some thin weapon. His family were all clubed to death, beaten in a most painful manner. And his attendents were poisoned. Now all the corpses are piled up in the centre of town, ready to be carted off and buried under the Twin Hills. It has caused chaos. The town guard, though small and ineffectual, had siezed control of the city, preventing anyone from entering or leaving until the mystery was solved. And the Darkfriends destroyed. The Illianers in the town blamed the Tearans, the tearans the other way around. People tried to flee in panic. Already the town guard itself has slain three that were running panicked, away.
You look around at the people near you, a small group of only ten. Most of the town tried to go about their normal business, doing what they did the best they could. But you ten have come to the centre of town with the desire to get to the centre of this plot. You are sure that the Darkfriends that did this are in the group. And before you ask, no, you cannot lynch random people off the street. Only each other in a righteous quest to purge the world of Darkfriends. Or destroy it.
The game has started, you should first confirm in this thread that you got and understand your role message. If you did not, noteboard me immediatly. You may begin play whenever you want, though it might be best to wait until everyone has confirmed.
