Okay, my turn to try my hand at this whole analysing thing...
Kylia Skydancer Send a noteboard - 08/07/2010 11:46:37 AM
because I've been quiet before but mostly cause now we have this wealth of information to go on So to bring in the information from day one and play with it a bit. In my playing, I will assume people have told the truth so far in what they have said. Even if that is a bit naive.
The goal is to eliminate as much info as possible and to figure out who had a hand in producing our three corpses. I'll do my best to list reasons for what I'm crossing out but if I miss something, feel free to berate me.
Before we start though, let's rehash the main info superquick:
Isaac (probably mafia boss since it was mentioned they're immune to detection) was killed by some sort of beast. (like the kind that attacked Napoleon)
Artsapat (townie and politician, if I'm remembering the role right) was killed by a slash to the throat.
Fanatic-Templar (cop and townie)was killed by multiple gunshot wounds.
oki, let's do this. bear in mind this is the first time I've done this so I may not be that good at it.
(red is for dead btw)
Big Info Table
Amys (Now Fanatic-Templar)
MODERN REAL EARTH: UNC
MAJOR CHARACTER OR SETTING: UNC
GENDER: Male
We still don't know much here. Amys didn't really take part and FT has spoken up yet to fill in the blanks. But since she's now gone and her character has been taken over, we can probably say with reasonable conviction she did not kill any of our three guys.
Artsapat
"The Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase
MODERN REAL EARTH: UNC
MAJOR CHARACTER OR SETTING: No
GENDER: Male
CONSISTENT: (Yes)
HEROIC DO-GOODER: No
Professional Wrestling
Monopoly, The Game
American Idol
GI Joe
The Apprentice
not much to be said here. I just didn't want to erase the dead people. He was killed by a slash to the throat so we shall see who could have slashed him.
beetnemesis
MODERN REAL EARTH: Yes
MAJOR CHARACTER OR SETTING: Yes
GENDER: Male
CONSISTENT: Yes
HEROIC DO-GOODER: Strong Yes
Sluggy Freelance
Advertising Mascots
Christian Folklore
Jewish Folklore
James Bond
Apparently beet is very heroic. that doesn't mean, however, that he couldn't be misguided into killing people. So he shall (by dint of his name starting with 'B' ) be the first we examine for such possibilities. Guns and knives abound in beet's settings so we can't really give him a free pass in any light. I think every one of his settings includes either a gun or a knife somewhere in it. 'Cept maybe the advertising mascots. And that could go either way. Could smoket the Bear be considered an advertising mascot? I mean, yeah, he's more of a PSA guy but the A is still there. *ponders*
BlackAdder
MODERN REAL EARTH: No
MAJOR CHARACTER OR SETTING: No
GENDER: Male
CONSISTENT: Yes
HEROIC DO-GOODER:
The Jungle Book
Aesop's Fables
The Chronicles of Narnia
Garfield
The Wind in the Willows
Yeah, we don't really know much about this mysterious person. i'm striking through Narnia as a setting because I'm going on the idea that ranagrande didn't have more than one person per setting right now. though I could be wrong, we could have some sort of masonish thing going on between people from the same setting. But let's put that aside for now. I could see knives in the first two of his settings...not so much in the other two. All of his settings are pretty full with "beasts" though...or animals anyway. Whatever.
Darth_Katie
MODERN REAL EARTH: UNC
MAJOR CHARACTER OR SETTING: No
GENDER: Male
CONSISTENT: Yes
HEROIC DO-GOODER: Debatable
Looney Toons
Dexter's Lab
Barbie
The Simpsons
South Park
Again, I'm striking out Barbie for the same reason as before. Looney toons is full of beasts but not that many knives. Elmer Fudd does have a gun though. Dexter's Lab is weaponless but you never know what beastly things science can cook up. The last two are pretty full of weapons of all kinds and the characters would definitely fall into the "Debatable" category hero-wise.
Fanatic-Templar
Nero Wolf
MODERN REAL EARTH: Yes
MAJOR CHARACTER OR SETTING: UNC
GENDER: Male
CONSISTENT: Yes
HEROIC DO-GOODER: Yes
erm..yet another dead person. this one was shot dead from multiple gunshot wounds. I'm gonna go on a limb here and say that if Isaac was responsible for one of the other deaths, it was probably this one. Opinion polls (cast on one person ) state that Shredder would be way likelier to use a gun than a knife.
Fox and Ravens
MODERN REAL EARTH: No, changed from UNC
MAJOR CHARACTER OR SETTING: UNC
GENDER: Male
CONSISTENT:
HEROIC DO-GOODER:
Star Trek
Sonic
A Song of Ice and Fire
Spaceballs
Willy Wonka-verse
hmm...Star Trek wouldn't have guns generally, they use phasers so they don't blow hols in the side of their ships. Knives are however available to the klingons and such. Sonic is full of beasts and a couple guns, depending on the series. Ice and fire also has knives galore and Spaceballs...might have guns, since a parody doesn't really *have* to follow that energy weapon thing. Fairly sure no knives though. A couple beasts maybe.
Hobo
MODERN REAL EARTH: Yes
MAJOR CHARACTER OR SETTING: Yes
GENDER: Male
CONSISTENT:
HEROIC DO-GOODER:
Shakespeare plays
Wheel of Time
Enders Series
Robin Hood
Greek Myths
Okay, before I start, can I just say that none of the given settings here seem to fall under "Modern Real Earth," at least not to me. Now I know we've had our discussions on what constitutes MRE but seriously, this is kinda stretching it. anyway, moving on. The plays are full of knives, no guns and I don't think any beasts though. WOT has both knives and beasts, no guns. The Ender series pretty much has all three somewhere or the other. Robin Hood also has knives and the greek myths have both knives and beasts On a different note, am I the only one wondering what Hobo has been upto? he talks very little and yet is still in the game. That tells me he's probably at least using his role, whatever it is.
Isaac
Shredder
MODERN REAL EARTH: UNC
MAJOR CHARACTER OR SETTING: UNC
GENDER: Male
CONSISTENT: Yes
HEROIC DO-GOODER: Yes
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
Indiana Jones
Marvel Comics
Whedonverse
Dark Shadows
Yeah...so Isaac was killed by a beast, we think. The same beast that attacked Napoleon, we think. Not much to say here except that Shredder probably likes guns better than knives and so, if Isaac is responsible for either of the other deaths, it is probably FT's. Which
leaves Artsapat's killer out there...the fact that we think Isaac was a mafia boss kinda implies he had someone to boss around.
Kronin al'Sulc
Barbie
MODERN REAL EARTH: UNC
MAJOR CHARACTER OR SETTING: UNC
GENDER: Female
CONSISTENT: Kinda (Yes)
HEROIC DO-GOODER: (Usually)
Dr. McNinja
Barbieverse

Pokemon
American Idol
Again, not much to say about the dead girl. we knew her well...well, actually we didn't. But that's beside the point. We lynched Kronin, mostly because he was an easy target. Bad town! *baps everyone*
I suppose we could analyze the vote but I'm fairly sure we're all agreed Kronin fucked himself over so there's really no point. Sad though, that was a wicked role he had. And it definitely shows ranagrande is willing to think outside the box.
Kylia Skydancer
MODERN REAL EARTH: Yes
MAJOR CHARACTER OR SETTING: UNC
GENDER: Male
CONSISTENT: YEs
HEROIC DO-GOODER:
Buffyverse
The Sixth Sense
Captain Planet
Sherlock Holmes
The DC Universe
So I'm of two minds on analysing myself. I really should for consistency purposes but are you going to believe my analysis? Still, I shall do it, in the same way I have done the others and you may take what you will.
Sherlock Holmes is struck through because Isaac (I think) called me on that one being inconsistent with my other answers and he's absolutely right. So I shall voluntarily give that one up.
Anyway, knives, guns and beasts galore in the Buffyverse. Not so much in the Sixth Sense. as far as I remember anyway, correct me if I'm wrong. Fairly sure there's some knives and guns in Captain Planet (though not that much cause it's a kids show) and I think I remember some mutant sewer rats or something. And the DCverse is basically a catchall for everything.

Lucy Pevensie
MODERN REAL EARTH: No
MAJOR CHARACTER OR SETTING: Yes

CONSISTENT: Yes (Doctor)

Narnia
Wheel of Time

Okay so I'm choosing to go the way of faith here and believe the Lucy Pevensie claim. You may choose to do otherwise. That and what was said pretty much makes Napoleon the doctor, usually a town role but there's no telling really. (there's a couple beasts and knives and things in the ruled out settings, granted.) Anyway, Narnia has beasts, lots of them, and also has a knife or two. Lucy herself owns a knife, given to her by Santa Claus in lion/witch/wardrobe. I shall leave it there since nothing else comes to mind.

The Office...usually doesn't get *that* violent, does it? Dollhouse can pretty much be whatever knife and gun wise. No beasts though. On a personal note, Dollhouse seems a little too much like Barbie to me if I was looking for a role..seems like those dolls can do anything they've had their minds set to. Lucy is currently suspected of either being the beast or unkillable/unlynchable. I myself will hold my tongue on the wild speculation.
Final remarks...I'm going with Isaac killed FT and Artsapat was killed by someone else. And the beast killed Isaac. Now what puzzles me is that two people were attacked the night before (both were saved, napoleon with his self-professed doccing powers, FT with...what exactly?) But we've got three kills last night. So someone has made an attack who didn't the previous night. Now is it because this person is a vigilante or a serial killer with limited bullets? Is it because this person was RBIRL the first week or dropped out of the game and got taken over by another player? Or is it because another person *did* get attacked the night before and has not spoken up. Isaac's theory of infection comes up here but personally I don't think there's any evidence to support it.
I've done my best to be somewhat impartial but I know some biases and suspicions have seeped in. You shall have to forgive me. Hopefully I've done well for my first time at one of these massive analysis posts.
