Return to the Day 2 Chronology -------------------->

Day 3 Chronology

Dawn 3 Message – Darth Katie
You pass Fanatic-Templar in the hall in the early evening, and cast your compulsion, who immediately yawns, your night passes peacefully, visions of future glory fill your dreams. You have no doubt Fanatic-Templar spent the night asleep
Dawn 3 Message – Gher
You Track White Flame of Tar Valon, he goes to Talic's room and stays there almost all night, before returning to his room near dawn.
Dawn 3 Message – Artsapat
You are just preparing to strike at White Flame of Tar Valon, peaking in through the window to the room where he sits in a chair, lightly dozing, when someone knocks on the door. He awakens, and you jerk back, returning to the shadows. You hear him speak a greeting, then a choking noise and a flash of light. He falls to the floor clutching his chest, a whole burned through. A moment later you hear a scream of pain and rage form nearby, and you quickly retreat.
Dawn 3 Message – White Flame
You spend most of the night guarding your Aes Sedai, until she awakens briefly, and seeing you exhausted, sends you off to get some rest, it is nearly dawn but you return to your own room and begin dozing. Exhausted, you rest. When you hear a knock at your door, rising and opening it, you barely have time to gasp before death takes you.
Dawn 3 Message – Bergioyn
You see White Flame enter a room you know is not his, from which he does not exit till nearly dawn, impatient you follow him back to his room and knock on the door. A moment later he answers it, greets you in surprise, and gasps as you lift your hand an unleash a ball of fire right into his chest, you hear a wail of anguish from a nearby room and quickly flee, as you re-enter your room, pleased at you success, you have not time to even scream as the sword cuts toward your neck.
Dawn 3 Message – Kronin
You easily sneak into Bergioyn's room, only to find her absent, you wait patiently, and hear a scream of anguish. A moment later Bergioyn enters, smiling as though pleased by something. She's still smiling as her head hits the floor, you calmly clean your blade on the hem of her dress, sheathe it, and leave.
Dawn 3 Message – Talic
Your warder guards your sleep protectively, you awaken briefly, feeling his exhaustion, and tell him to return to his room, though you realize it is nearly dawn. You drift back to sleep but feel an incredible wrenching pain, and realize in horror that your warder has died, someone is screaming, and you realize it is you.

“Event: Merciless” has happened – You are no longer under voting restrictions, and may now hammer. The murder of your warder has shattered any reluctance you previously had.

Dawn 3 Message – Amys
You are awakened to a sound of bellowing and many boots running through the hallways
Dawn 3 Message – Beetnemesis
Your night passes peacefully, you are awakened before dawn to the sounds of bellowing and many booted feet charging down the halls.
Dawn 3 Message – BlackAdder
Your night passes rather peacefully, you are awakened before dawn to the sounds of bellowing and many booted feet charging down the halls. You ward, Gher, is unharmed.
Dawn 3 Message – Fanatic-Templar
A restful nights slumber does you no harm, and it is amazingly restful at that, you awaken before dawn to the sounds of men yelling in the hallway.
Dawn 3 Message – Fistofpainx
You awaken before dawn to the sounds of men yelling in the hallway.
Dawn 3 Message – Ranagrande
You investigate Darth Katie, and are briefly awakened when you feel your target either channel or be channeled at by Saidar. You sleep otherwise undisturbed, until a women's scream awakens you, you realize it is Talic sobbing and wailing. There is then a great commotion in the hallway.
Dawn 3 Message – Yunalesca
You pace in agitation as you wait for Bergioyn to return and report her success, the screaming and the commotion in the hallway near White Flame of Tar Valon's room makes it obvious the deed has been done.

“She has not returned.” Hobo says flatly.

“She may have had to elude pursuit.”

“We shall see, this is a risky business and she is young and naïve.”

You sigh, “If you want something done right, do it yourself.” You say.

As you only have one remaining advisor, you have only 1 NK remaining, which only you as a player can use.

So, the Dawn 3 Messages, I'm sure you'll note quite a few are rather short, last minute delays in night actions required a lot of quick work.

Day 3 Morning Message

Location – Saladea, outskirts of Maradon
Date: Twelfth day of Saven, 979 NE

Dawn has not yet happened as those not already awake are awakened by a scream and then loud clamors of alarm and guards rushing down the halls.

White Flame of Tar Valon has been killed, found in his room with a hole burned through his chest. The guests stare at the body in horror then hear another shout of alarm, Bergioyn has been found in her room, her head cut from her body.

Returning to sleep is unimaginable, and the dawn near, so the remaining guests return to their deliberations.

A search of White Flame of Tar Valon's possession reveals a warder's cloak, which he was not wearing, he had two swords strapped to his back, as is the fashion amongst Kandori. His light green tunic is burned at the chest, the heat so intense his blonde hair is cracked and smoldered, his brown eyes stare out unseeing.

Bergioyn's too wore green, stained now with blood, her red hair matted, green eyes open in surprise, the Saldean's possessions turn up a journal, in which she discusses her ability to channel as a wilder.

Event: Lunch Interlude Day 3
As the last vote comes in, Gher stands and politely hands the gavel over to ranagrande, and the two switch seats.

“I believe Gher, that you will be serving as our advocate now.” Ranagrande says.

“Such is the case.” Gher replies. “In regards to that, I do have some evidence that the guards brought to my attention, which I will mention briefly before we break for lunch. On inspecting White Flame of Tar Valon's quarters, they found damage to the trellises near his balcony and window. It appears, based on the guards testimony, that the vines on the trellis were broken in a fashion consistent with someone climbing them, and that the damage to the vines was fresh enough that it must have happened last night. They are guessing that whoever did climb it spent a decent period of time there.”

Kronin al'Sulc, seated to Gher's right and left of the Chair, peers at the papers in front of Gher. “It strikes me that Bergioyn was hardly dressed for climbing trees or trellises. And considering she died right inside the door to her room, and likewise White Flame of Tar Valon, I imagine if she was the killer herself, she would hardly have come in through the balcony to do it. So she may or may not be the killer, but she almost certainly wasn't the one on the trellis. That person may be the killer, or simply was spying on White Flame of Tar Valon.”

Gher nods. “Indeed, it is difficult to surmise what happened, but in all likelihood whoever was on that balcony or peering in through the window next to it would not have been the killer, White Flame of Tar Valon was clearly standing at the door, facing the entrance when he was struck, there is no sign of the body being moved posthumously.” He looks over at Kronin al'Sulc. “This person looking in through the window may have seen the culprit.”

Kronin al'sulc shakes his head. “I think not. I'd want to check to be sure, but I do not believe you can see the doorway itself from the window. I remember I had to step inside before I had a clear line of sight on the window, the layout is fairly similar to my own rooms, and I can not see my window until I am a few steps inside the room.” A few other guests with similar rooms nod their heads. “Even assuming the person by the window was there at the time of the murder, which is hardly a certainty, I doubt they could have seen the murderer unless they stepped inside to check to make sure he was dead or search the room. It seems a safe bet that the murderer would not have needed to get a mirror out to check for signs of vitality with a smoking hole in the victim's chest, and the room had no signs of a search nor time for one to be conducted after the murder. I think we obviously have to assume the culprit was a channeler, I can think of nothing else except certain substances use for night displays that would leave such a mark.”

Fistofpainx, seated to Gher's other side, chuckles, “I do have some familiarity with nightflowers and such other things, they do be produced by the Illuminator's Guild in Tarabon, and I have traded in them. They do make a rather distinctive and loud noise when they go off, and a smell. No I do fear White Flame of Tar Valon's murderer was almost certainly a channeler.”

Ranagrande nods, “Thank you Gher, for bringing this to our attention, and fistofpainx and Kronin a'Sulc for your insights. I suggest we adjourn for lunch now, without objection...” Ranagrande pauses to look around, “Very well. We will start our talks again after lunch.”

Day 3 Twilight – Artsapat Lynched
Beetnemesis leans back, arms crossed, as the other guests wait.

“Artsapat” Beetnemesis says, once more the final vote.

Artsapat stands and runs a hand through his red hair and chuckles, looking tired. The guards approach warily and take his arms, another take his sword. Unresisting, he let's the guards lead him outside to the gallows. As they near the platform he seizes one by the wrist and there is a loud snap of bone. He sends another skidding across the ground before the third runs him through with his own sword.

“The Great Lord will take you all...” He gasps, then laughing slumps to the ground.

Arstapat has been lynched. Originally from Lugard, he had red hair, green eyes, and dressed in dark green. A search of his quarters uncovers a color-shifting cloak.

Twilight 3 Message – BlackAdder
As you watch the red-headed Aielman fall, a sword driven through his chest, you sigh in relief. You feared you might have to unleash your lightnings upon him. The guard he first assaulted is kneeling, clutching his arm, and you bend down beside him, to help. You can see the bone sticking through the skin, and the man is almost out of his mind with pain, strong as this brave borderlander is.

Channeling, you heal his arm, the man gasps as though he's been dunked face first into icy water. As the pain eases from his face, he looks at you.

“Are you well?” You ask.

“Yes, must have wrenched it bad, I thought it was broken for sure.” He says, examining his arm in surprise.

“I think it popped out of the socket, can hurt like that. So I popped it back into place for you.”

“Must be, thanks.” The guard smiles with appreciation and rises.

You walk away, seeing the other guard who was shoved by the evil Aiel Artsapat rising shakily to his feet. Pleased to have helped, you step over the Aiel's corpse and make your way to the library to ponder your options for who to protect.

Twilight 3 Message – Darth Katie
The loss of your warder troubles you greatly, upset and concerned for your own safety without your warder to guard you, you return to your rooms, the anonymous note concealed in your dress. Kronin al'Sulc trails you, discreetly entering behind.

An Event, “Fear and Loss” has happened, trigger: Your warder is lynched

Darkfriend Mass Message - Night 3
Kronin al'Sulc steps into Darth Katie's rooms and discreetly closes the door. Darth Katie looks up, scowling, tears in her eyes.

“Sad that your toy is broken?” Kronin al'Sulc says.

“He is replaceable, I've lost other warders, but the experience is not pleasant. It is akin to having your teeth pulled out, it was all I could do not to cry out when he was stabbed.”

“Good that you did not cry out, I doubt many would believe you were not a darkfriend yourself, three oaths or not. Perhaps you should find yourself a new one. Our numbers are dwindling, but the core remains intact.”

“Yes, we must decide what to do tonight.”

Twilight 3 Message – Gher and Beetnemesis
“Another Darkfriend has perished”, Gher says, a cruel smile on his lips. “And twice now you have been the deciding vote, your conviction to the Light is undeniable and strong.”

“Indeed.” Says Beetnemesis, frowning at the fallen warder. “I wonder...”

Twilight 3 Message – Ranagrande
You see after Darth Katie has risen from the table that the letter is no longer there. A few specks of wax on the carpet nearby, visibly to your Saidar enhanced sight, indicate Darth Katie broke the quick seal you used.

Irritated that you received no response, you return to your room, the despondent looking Talic following you. Foolish, warders, there is little need for protection of steel when you have the One Power, and men do not live long, one way or another they die and then you get this, an Aes Sedai who keeps tearing up. Or that other, Artsapat, a darkfriend warder, imagine how that Aes Sedai, whoever she is, must feel with that dual blow, his death and true allegiance revealed all at once. Likely sobbing right now just like Talic. Some leeway might be given for the girl's youth, her face hasn't even taken on the Ageless look yet, still, the girl clearly should not have had the shawl for at least another decade, the way she is behaving. She is so upset over the death of a mere man...

… or is she? You stop at your door, glancing quickly at Talic. Is it feigned? It seems almost unbelievable another sister could be a darkfriend, yet if this other warder was, well, his Aes Sedai could be a darkfriend... and White Flame of Tar Valon was not killed by a Darkfriend, no he was probably killed by that Wilder girl, Bergioyn... could this other Aes Sedai be of the Black Ajah? If not one sister then why not others? Or was... maybe... he Talic's warder, if she were Black Ajah there is certainly no reason to think she'd hesitate to defy her Ajah's convention of a single warder. Mysteries...

You shake your head, dismissing the thoughts for now and entering your room, Talic following along. This Bergioyn raises a problem. You'd heard rumors of a gifted wilder amongst the Saldaean nobility, along with Iselle Arrel, another borderlander noble girl who has the ability but has not been sent to the tower. Something will have to be done when you return to the Tower, this may represent a growing trend amongst the borderlander nobles that must be brought to heel quickly. The Tower needs every girl it can get, and judging from Talic, the shortage of novices is clearly causing a drop in acceptable standards.

Tower Group Night Message 3 A
“Another Darkfriend has perished.” Ranagrande says, placing a comforting hand on Talic's shoulder.

Talic, who is once more racked by a fit of sobbing at the loss of her warder, shakes her head. “I don't see how a warder could hide his nature from his Aes Sedai.”

“Well, girl, remember your pain at this event, it is one of the reasons we of the Red do not bother with warders. The pain of their loss, and the possibility that even they might betray you.”

Talic shakes her head. “I know the Three Oaths prevent it, but is it possible...”

“There are those in the Tower who would have you doing penance for even hinting at such a thing.” Ranagrande Sedai says, a scowl on her face. She sighs. “But I am not one of them. Unlike that young fool Elaida, I believe there may be Black Ajah, hidings like worms under our very noises. Still, if they do exist, I doubt there are many of them, and I do not see how the Three Oaths would allow them to go undetected. It is just as likely whoever this man Artsapat belonged to did not know his true allegiance. I can easily see the scum trying to sneak one of their vile number into the tower as a spy, kitchen girl, a novice, or a warder. We must determine who this other sister is.”

Twilight 3 Message – Amys
You stand once more in the guard room, sipping tea. Fistofpainx smiles at you, and holds a hand up, forestalling the guards query and staying only long enough to get a cup of tea himself. The guards look at you, and ask if you wish to play.
Twilight 3 Message – Fistofpainx
You briefly encounter Amys again in the guard room before returning to your own rooms.

Twilight 3 Message – Fanatic-Templar
Once more this uncivilized method of justice has at least produced decent results, with a darkfriend dying. You bump into Amys, who is carrying a cup of tea, on the way to your room.

“Oh, sorry.” Says Amys.

You wince as the hot liquid burns your skin. “Oh, quite all right.” You say dabbing the damp spot with your handkerchief and looking down the hall the way Amys came.

“From the guardroom.” Amys says, seeing your look. “Not the best tea but it keeps you awake. Good night, Fanatic-Templar, Sleep Well and Wake, as the Aiel say, dangerous times.”

“Thank you Amys, you as well.”

Taken by curiosity and a desire for tea yourself, you head to the guardroom. A few guards are sitting there, playing cards. A tea kettle and some snacks sit on a table near a small brazier. The snacks look rather ornate for simple guards, but you realize they are leftovers from the various items left in the room in which you and the other guests deliberate in. For a half-crazed madman holding everyone against their will in a vicious and lethal undertaking, Muad Cheade certainly doesn't spare any expense or courtesy in other areas.

“Can I help you sir?” Asks one guard.

“No, well, yes, Amys had some tea, spilled it on me in truth, felt like a cup myself. I'm Fanatic-Templar.”

“Kal Redder, sir. Yeah, help yourself, we were about to play some cards.”

“Really? I might join you for a hand.”

Your silver tongue rarely fails you, and it takes little time, and only a little silver deliberately lost in play, you uncover that both Amys and fistofpainx often come into the guard room in the evenings, and apparently seem quite content to lose money playing themselves or give small gifts, friendly tokens, to the guards, but that neither remained longer tonight than was necessary to say hello and get some tea. After losing outrageously, on purpose of course, you smile and leave, pausing as you pass Amys's room on the way back to your own, thinking... you find yourself knocking on Amys's door before you realize it.

Amys answers it. “Oh, hello...”

Night 3 Guard room group mass message
Fanatic-Templar steps inside Amys's room.

“So, I imagine we have things to discuss.” Fanatic-Templar says.

Merchant Guild Group Message 3A -
fistofpainx opens his door on the second knock. Dressed in a white night shirt and cap, the portly Illianer holds a candle as he regards the two who knocked on his door.

If Fanatic-Templar or Amys notice the firepoker clutched in the other hand, they make no comment, perhaps remembering that at least one of the other guests perished answering the door.

“Oh, hello.” He says.

“We should talk.” Says Amys, gesturing inside.

“Very well.” Says fistofpainx, nervously eyeballing the sword on Amys's hip and the long dagger on Fanatic-Templar's. gesturing for the two gentlemen to enter.

Twilight 3 Message – Yunalesca
You close the door to your room behind you. Hobo sits in his chair, a concerned look on his face.

“You shouldn't permit those lowborn rabble to speak to you so.” He says.

“I know, I know, but what choice do I have?”

“For the moment, perhaps none, but patience is a virtue.”

“Indeed.” You say, scowling, “There will be time to repay them for their slights, and few are worthy to consume the Elixir and gain enlightenment. Some perhaps...”

“Indeed, come, sit, let us have some tea and discuss what to do. Two heads are better than one.”

You have a single night kill remaining at this time.
