Try living somewhere else while your team is bad/mediocre. In the pre-Sunday night football and Thursday night football, pre streaming, pre NFL redzone days, moving away from your team means you just don't get to watch them unless they're GREAT or they're playing against a local team. Living in Atlanta in the early 2000s I barely got to watch them. Sunday night and Thursday night football helped a lot.
Yesterday I wore a Chiefs shirt that my wife got me for my 50th birthday and two, TWO! ladies at my doctor's office told me they didn't like it, because they don't like the Chiefs.
Still, I'm not trying to compare. I would much rather be a Chiefs fan right now than a Giants fan. Even if we're about to get exposed in the playoffs. The last few years have been a fun ride, and as long as the Chiefs stay 'pretty good' I'll get to watch many of their games, anyway.
The late 60s Chiefs were a fun team. Otis Taylor was one of my favorite non-Giant players, as were Bobby Bell and Buck Buchannan. Yeah, you guys went through a long drought until Reid was hired. And I liked Mahomes for a while. Not so much anymore. It's more that I'm tired of him, his annoying brother, and his inheriting the Tom Brady mantle of the league's golden goose, than actual dislike.
Anyway, enjoy this run. They might not win it all again this year. But I wouldn't bet against them.
