Unfortunately, if a mammal of any kind bites someone, and there's no vaccination record, the only real option is to, at a minimum, quarantine the animal. For certain companion animals like dogs and cats, there are ways to watch it. For others, though, there's not really a setup to quarantine.

Good advice about the lawyer, to be sure, though I don't know if anything could have been done in this instance.

In comparison to Republicans, though, the Democrats haven't spent 65 million dollars on anti-squirrel ads. In comparison with the anti-trans ads the Republicans have been airing, I think this is probably a bit less offensive.
