It's no Princess Bride, but it's fantasy and not bad.

I didn't recognize Henry Cavil as the hero's romantic rival and his part was actually pretty minor after the movie got going, but Robert De Nero was good as was Michelle Pfeiffer as the evil witch and Mark Strong as the secondary villain. There's one camp gay cross-dressing character who as far as I can tell would be a positive gay role model without making the movie super-woke. I mean, he's pretty much a kind badass - I think the woke crowd would call it non-toxic masculinity. There are two female protagonists who aren't girlbossing all over the place or punching out full grown men and instead are accomplishing the kind of heroics that any person could. The main character's hero's journey may be the weakest part of the movie as it seems like he goes from zero to hero a little too quickly. I mean, maybe I missed something but it seems like less than two weeks for the entire movie to occur, which is not enough time to get gud at swordfighting, for instance, no matter who your teacher is.

The movie made $137 million on a budget of $70 million, so make more like this, Hollywood.
